The first M rated game I experienced was “Halo: Combat Evolved,” which I played around the age of 15. At that point, I was viewed as mature enough to handle the themes present in the game, and my parents were reassured by the fact that the fictional setting and storyline were quite abstract and far removed from real life. This game marked a turning point, leading to a broader understanding and appreciation for complex narratives and advanced gameplay mechanics that such mature-rated games often provided.
