Has Israeli Society Experienced a Shift Towards Greater Religious Devotion in Recent Years?
Over the past few years, discussions surrounding the religious landscape of Israel have become increasingly prominent. Personally, I believe that Israeli society has trended towards greater religious observance. Two years ago, I undertook a spiritual return (known as tzua in Hebrew) and have seen many around me, including acquaintances and community members, becoming more committed to their faith following significant recent events, particularly after October 7th.
Living within a predominantly religious environment has given me direct insight into this phenomenon. However, I am curious about how individuals from different backgrounds and living in varied contexts perceive recent religious developments in Israel. Have communities outside my own experienced similar shifts, or have their trajectories diverged?
