The Great Shift: Examining the Rise of Populism and Power in a Changing World

We are currently witnessing a profound transformation on a global scale, one that is intricately designed by certain influential forces.

Across the globe, populist leaders are gaining prominence—figures like Trump, Bukele, Milei, Orban, and Modi are all employing remarkably similar tactics. Their messages revolve around nationalism, an “anti-elite” stance, and an ongoing cultural battle. Yet beneath this surface, what truly stands out is the emergence of a new class of billionaires who are consolidating their power, leveraging technology, cryptocurrency, surveillance, and unforeseen events to actively reshape societal norms.

A significant aspect that often goes unnoticed is the extent of the manipulation at play. Social media platforms are rife with bots, astroturfing initiatives, and fraudulent accounts that serve as tools for distortion. Outrage-driven algorithms dominate the digital landscape, and many so-called “grassroots” movements are manufactured products rather than genuine initiatives. Alarmingly, these dynamics are taking place on platforms owned by the very individuals who are also funding the politicians involved.

Consider platforms like Twitter (rebranded as X) owned by Elon Musk, who also oversees Starlink and holds defense contracts with the Department of Defense. Or Peter Thiel, who created Palantir—employed in ICE operations and police surveillance—and champions right-wing political candidates while facilitating the launch of invasive technologies like Clearview AI. These individuals represent a strategic element in a subtle yet profound political upheaval.

They thrive in times of crisis, whether that manifests as a terrorist incident, economic downfall, or global health emergency. During such moments, they expand surveillance measures, advocate for emergency legislation, and justify these moves under the guise of public safety—parallels can be drawn to historical events like the Reichstag fire.

In chaotic times, financial gain is their reward:

  • Defense startups, such as Anduril—bolstered by Thiel’s backing—are now valued in the billions.
  • Cryptocurrency experiences significant surges whenever trust in banks or governmental structures wanes, allowing initial investors to liquidate profits during periods of public panic.

Presently, these billionaires are lobbying for the deregulation of Artificial Intelligence, cloaked in promises of “innovation.” However, the underlying motive is more concerning: they aim to control the narrative surrounding news, information, and data flows. A lack of regulations would enable them to dominate the forthcoming information batt
