I first started using the Internet in the mid-1990s when it was becoming more accessible to the general public. Back then, the experience was vastly different from today. I used a dial-up connection, which was quite slow by modern standards, and accessed the Internet through a browser like Netscape Navigator or early versions of Internet Explorer. During those early days, the World Wide Web was characterized by simple websites with basic graphics and hyperlinks, and services like AOL and CompuServe were popular gateways to online content and communication. The predominant activities included sending emails, participating in bulletin board systems (BBS), and exploring a variety of niche websites. As the technology evolved, so did the range of activities possible online, but those early experiences laid the groundwork for a lifelong engagement with digital technology.
