As I navigated through the crowded streets, I heard a familiar voice speaking English. To my astonishment, I turned around to see a distant cousin whom I hadn’t seen in years. He was on a culinary tour across Asia with some friends. It was surreal bumping into him so far from home, especially since neither of us knew the other was in Japan. We ended up spending the day exploring the market together and catching up over sushi—a truly memorable and serendipitous reunion.
