One of my most cherished experiences from college was the time I participated in a study abroad program in Italy. It was a semester-long program that allowed me to immerse myself in a new culture, explore historic sites, and appreciate art in a way I never had before. Living in Florence, I was surrounded by stunning architecture and had the opportunity to take courses in art history and Italian language, both of which greatly enriched my understanding and appreciation of the world.

What stands out the most from this experience was the friendships I built with both locals and fellow international students. Together, we traveled to different cities on weekends, experiencing the incredible diversity within Italy itself—from the romantic canals of Venice to the bustling streets of Rome. These trips not only strengthened my bonds with those around me but also taught me invaluable lessons about independence, adaptability, and perspective.

The entire experience was transformative, allowing me to grow both personally and academically. It broadened my worldview and has continued to influence the way I perceive and interact with the world long after college.
