This can detract from genuine connection, as the focus shifts from being true to oneself to meeting externally imposed norms. Additionally, such societal pressures can discourage open communication and vulnerability, which are crucial for building strong, meaningful relationships. Recognizing these pressures and addressing them with empathy can enhance mutual understanding and create a more supportive environment.
